The most interesting kayaking routes

When choosing a kayaking trip in the Panew Valley, you can choose from a variety of routes with varying difficulty levels. The shortest route, ideal for families with small children, runs from Kielcza to Żędowice – the 2-kilometer trip should take about 30 minutes. Beginners and families with children can certainly enjoy the popular Zawadzkie-Kolonowskie route, which is 12 kilometers long and takes about 3 hours. It's not only relatively easy but also considered exceptionally charming due to the forest surrounding the river. The Kolonowskie-Krasiejów route is also worth considering. You should be able to tackle this 10-kilometer route in 3 hours. For more advanced kayakers, we recommend the Ozimek-Jedlice-Turawa route, which passes through beautiful Lake Turawskie.

How to prepare for a kayaking trip on Mała Panew?

Kayaking, like many other forms of physical activity, requires proper preparation. A definite plus is that you don't need your own equipment – kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are readily available from many local rental companies. However, it's worth dressing appropriately, so on a hot day, bring a hat or cap for sun protection, and on a cool day, warm clothing. The key is to maintain a balance between comfort and safety. To capture wonderful moments on the water, it's worth taking a camera or smartphone, while, of course, properly protecting it from water.

First of all – safety!

Kayaking is a safe form of physical activity, provided you follow a few simple safety rules. First and foremost, you should realistically assess your own abilities and those of your crew members. As a beginner, there's no point in attempting a long and difficult route. Even if you can swim and are confident in your abilities, you should definitely wear a life jacket and fasten it correctly. This may not be the most comfortable solution, but in the event of a potential water encounter, it can prove invaluable! Furthermore, carefully monitor the river's condition so you can make the appropriate maneuver before entering an obstacle. Most routes are relatively shallow and safe, but it's worth taking extra care on some sections.

We hope we've managed to encourage you to take up the challenge and embark on a river trip, even if you're new to kayaking. By the way, if you're enjoying the Mała Panew River with your children, be sure to visit Jura Park Krasiejów, where you can admire life-size dinosaurs. During the kayaking trip, you can also visit other tourist attractions in the Opole region, including the Forest and Nature Chamber in the Zawadzkie Forest District or the suspension bridge in Krupski Młyn, dating back to 1930. And after a day full of excitement, we invite you to a culinary encounter with the regional cuisine. Castle Mill Restaurant!
